We believe that blockchain based technology will change the world.

Douglas Bridges, host of The Blockcast Show

Have you ever had an aha moment when learning about new technology?

That moment when everything clicks and you understand how powerful something will be.

I have.

The first time it happened was when I was chatting on an Internet enabled BBS in 1990, and the person I was chatting with was from the Middle East.

It happen again when I loaded Linux on a PC and I saw the Open Source community working together to develop an amazing software ecosystem.

It is happening again.

Blockchain technology is quickly being adopted by many in the technology sector, and it is changing the Internet as we know it.

Bitcoin was the first implementation of blockchain that gained widespread acceptance.  Having a distributed currency available in any country, with verifiable transactions and equal access has been a major technological revolution.

However, Bitcoin was just the beginning, and other developments utilizing blockchain have been fully embraced by industry in ways that Bitcoin has not.

For example, Ethereum, a blockchain providing smart contracts, has become the basis for hundreds of Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs) and has garnered immense support from industry players.

Multiple countries have been investigating the use of blockchain technology to provide documentation of essential government services, such as stock ownership, land titles, and voting registration.

This is just the beginning, and any programmer, manager, or lawyer will need to understand blockchain to be effective in the future.

The Blockcast Show is a podcast that focuses on the effects that blockchain based technologies are bringing to our world.  We do not focus on the nitty-gritty technical unpinnings, except to the extent needed to understand the value given by blockchain.  Instead, the Blockcast Show explores the constant changes that blockchain is bringing to the technology industry and educates its listeners to be able to work with it.
